What cooler is this for?

I am replacing a few things on the pickup I just bought. I know a few basic things but not much as I am not very experienced yet. Anyway I was told this was the transmission cooler? But the person who told me wasn't sure. Anyone tell me exactly what it is for and what the part costs? And also as to how badly it needs to be replaced

Are you referring to the bigger of the two in the picture? If so, the bigger one is the A/C condenser. The smaller one is the trans cooler. At least thats what it looks like

What's #3 though guys?

1. rad.
2. a/c condenser
3. ?
4. trans cooler.

Looks like a piece of sound insulation or something? Maybe something slid in there cus of a bad t-stat and engine not coming up to temp in the winter and or help get more heat in the cab? That's not a cooler of some sort is it?

Yes, #3 is my question. We thought it was the trans cooler, but this is my first diesel and again I'm not experienced in general. I've been reading theses forums for a bit and now I decided to join because you all know quite a bit and are friendly to us who are are new to this stuff

Touch it and wiggle it.There's no pipes or anything going in or out of it is there?See if you can just pull it out. I think it's just a light sheet of insulation to block off airflow for some reason.I could be way wrong lol but that's all it looks like to me.If I'm not seeing it correctly though, and say you grab it and wiggle it and it's a cooler.Just follow the lines back to see where they lead.Sure looks like a sheet of insulation though.

#3 is AC only. #4 is trans cooler, perhaps aftermarket/increased capacity.

If the AC holds pressure and works, DON'T MESS WITH IT. Slightly dented fins like that isn't going to affect it badly.
