2003 V-10 15000 miles ...years. Of sitting is it OK??

just purchased a 2003 e-350 platform RV with the V-10.

Only has 15,000'miles.
This is bone stock.
No real history to know what was done or not done!
Been sitting for 5 years.
Any advice as to potential problems to be aware of other than old gas?

thanks
Doug

I would go ahead and change the spark plugs and coil boots.

Drop the tank and clean it out really well. While it is down change out the inline filter and the fuel pump & sock only, not the whole pump & sender assembly.

Sam I Am...
thanks for the input.
Just so I get it right.
Replace the sock and pump ?
from what I see on you tube ...it looks like the sender , sock and pump all together in the tank ?

They are all part of the same assembly, but the pump and sock are available to purchase and install separately and are much cheaper that way. The sender is not as critical, it won't leave you walking if it goes out. You can always keep track of mileage with the trip meter. So $100 or less for a pump and sock vs $260 for that + a metal frame with sender & float.

And this is my opinion, I'm sure others may do it different.
For the work involved in dropping the tank, you might as well change the pump while it is out. It's $100 worth of peace of mind insurance.
