1987 - Ford Econoline E350 Club Van - Dome light

Hey there,

Just swooped up a 1987 Ford Econoline E350 Club Van. I'm confused as to what bulb fits in the dome light.

Does anyone know what style I should buy? (see Photo)

Thank you

Not sure of the correct type but visiting any better parts store should get you access to some sort of database for that year interior lamp. Also SuperBrightLED's website might have great replacements too--try these: Super Bright LED's

Following this thread because I bought the lights from superled.com. More basic question, how do you get the cloudy cover off the dome light. Searched threads, youtube. My eye sight isn't the best so maybe I am missing a tab or a slot?

Thx

E100/350 ~ 1975/86: #561 // 1987/91: #912.

1975/91's were also available with a dome light/map light combination (see lower [upper] pic), the map light bulbs (there are two) are #105.

Squeeze the plastic lens to install/remove it, see pics below.

Thanks for the help! I had the same issue as jvossman, I bought the same wrong LEDs from O'Reillys and then figured out later the correct bulb type, but my dome lights still don't work : )

The new bulb in post 6 might work in your license plate light.

1980/89 Econoline license plate bulb is # 194 // 1980/86 dome lamp bulb is # 561 // 1987/89 dome lamp bulb is # 912

The owners manual lists all the bulbs, but if y'all don't have it, here's two pics of the E100/350 bulb applications from the parts catalog:

Correct you are sir, but I was referring to this one, which was either ordered wrong or they sent the wrong one.
A 921 or 912 uses the same base as a 194/168 but has a fatter glass globe.
Depending on the LED, sometimes they fit into housings made for the glass bulbs as LED equivalents are often much more compact.
Just throwing out suggestions so the bulb can still be used without the hassle and expense of sending it back.
Will also fit the under hood light on all the F series trucks I currently own.

LED equivalent of a 921 bulb

LED license plate bulbs are an extremely popular swap due to lasting so much longer and being in an application that many people do not check regularly.

Lower pic at left: Here's what the original "push in" 194 bulb looks like. As you can see, it's all glass.

These bulbs were used in gazillions of FoMoCo vehicles. I used the Ranger/Bronco II pic because it clearly shows the bulb.
