Can a tailgate camera have focus adjusted?

I had the camera replaced on my '15 F350 and the new camera is out of focus. Before I take it back I was wondering if anyone knows if the focus can be adjusted.

Did you take the protective cover off it?

There is no focus adjustment. It is fixed.

Not aware of any "plastic cover" that comes on whether shipping or installed.

Ha!
I have done that on cell phones, get it all back together and "WTF is wrong with the camera now?"
If you pick at the lens with a non-metallic prong like a wood toothpick you can usually dislodge the protective film if there is one on it.

There isn't a film on it. I will take it back and get them to do it correctly.

That is what everyone thought on the phone parts reviews too until they checked out the reviews like I did.
Why was the camera replaced?

Camera worked intermittently. There were times when I put it in reverse that the screen was distorted or blank. It had been happening for about 7 months before I took it in. I videoed the issues to show the service manager but when I went to the dealer to schedule the fix it happened while at the shop. He was able to see it himself. Once I left dealer it worked OK until I brought it back for replacement. The repair order shows a new camera and bezel were installed.

Yes, I took it in and they replaced the camera and bezel under warranty with new. The new camera is out of focus. I have checked again and there is no plastic covering the lens.

Mine is not "crystal clear". It's a little fuzzy. Might be operating normally.

You may be correct. What I can say is it is a noticeable difference between the old and new camera. Not sure why...

Ford changed cameras, maybe even manufactures. The original camera pn for the 2015 was EC3Z-19G490-A. The current part number is GC3Z-19G490-B.
