Is it possible.

Failure to torque plugs to 25-28 foot pounds with a torque wrench is the problem .Plugged cats will cause misfires etc /misfires can damage cats . Number 4 and 8 are closest to cats and they seem to misfire first when cats start to plug . Improper plug job is usually the culprit for misfires or going over 60k .Earlier engines had too few threads but that was fixed . Cleaning spark hole and tip are with carb cleaner is key . Start plugs by fingers they should thread in easily almost all the way . Use rubber socket and avoid side loading plug . 3-4-and 8 hard to get to but pull pcm and bracket and use swivel head socket wrench .Get you some foam padding up there to lay on but don't break VCTS. Replace all rubber boots on plugs .
If plug threads bad its a timesert you will need done correctly . No helicoils they won't last .
If exhaust completely blocked it will fail to run .Could it blow head gasket --don't know not experienced enough to say . Long time mechanics on here might know if that's possible .I'm not a mechanic .
