2017 2018 2019 Door Locks Freezing
Trying to see if there is a relationship between how often a truck is getting washed or in the rain/ snow and if you are having trouble with your door locks/ latching mechanism.
When thinking about how your truck typically experiences moisture...how often, on average, does it rain, snow or do you wash your truck?
Rain and snow would likely have the same or similar negative impact as a car wash so I'm combining rain and washing into the same type of "event" for this poll. I understand high pressure could play a role but it's tough to add that many categories into a poll like this.
Feel free to add comments below to help bring more detail to your responses.
Thank you.

On my truck, it happens a lot during the cold months, but I don't think its a moisture issue. I think its a grease/lubricant issue, it stiffens up and does not allow the mechanism to function fast enough. Once I experience the "not staying shut", I patiently wait for about five minutes then its normal, door latches. Temperature didn't change and I did not assist in any way, but in time the striker returns to normal.

Hasn't happened to my '17, however, I DID take it to my dealership and had the fix completed which consisted of replacing all four door latches. They had it for three days. Apparently it was too cold for the sealant they use to set properly, so after the second day, they had to leave it overnight in a warm environment for everything to dry and set...

My driver's door has to be closed 2-3 times to get it to latch when it's cold outside. Washing the truck has no effect on this. It's parked in the garage every night and even if it's been completely dry for days, if it's in the 40s or below when I get to work, about 30 minutes down the road, I'll have to shut it at least twice for it to latch. Sometimes up to 4 times. Only the driver's door though. I firmly believe water has zero to do with my issue, and it makes me wonder how much water has to do with the issues everyone else is seeing. I'm wondering if it's something with the latch itself and the cold or maybe the lube they used freezing. Mine's a 2017 Job 1 truck built in February 2017.

VA13FX4, so, you are reporting something new ( to me, anyway) I do not recall others reporting that repeated closings finally latched, I assume that yours would stay latched fir the followimg driving, did the next cycling of the door latch secure properly?...I recall back with Ford’s ‘Magic Three-Way Tailgate slamming the gate only to have a ‘closed’ latch bounce the tailgate back to you...the fix was to take a large screwdriver and move the pawl to the ‘open’ position, then slam the tailgate and all was goid.
I don’t know if today’s latches share any of those old design details...
