My project is a 1973 F250 4x4 highboy that is a retired fire/rescue truck. It was delivered from the factory as a cab/chassis and the fire/rescue company added a fiberglass utility body to it. It has dual rear wheels i know ford did not produce a F250 with dual rear wheels so they were added must likely by the upfitters. It apprears the wheel studs were replaced with longer ones. My question is, can i add a hub to the front dana 44 axle to have the same wheels all the way around? And if so which hubs will work? It has drum brakes. Currently the front rims do not match the rear rims.

 

 

So it doesn't look like i am going to be able to place the same wheels on the front as the rear

 

 

The dodge bolt pattern will match up ?

 

Yeah dodge stayed with the 8 x 6.5 bolt pattern, I think they still run it. Those Dodge spacers are around 4" wide and designed for 9/16" wheel studs. Our trucks have 1/2" studs, the stock lug nuts won't hold the bigger holes correctly. You'll need to swap your trucks front hubs to bigger studs to mount it. There's a 9/16 stud that swaps right in, but I don't know the part number. Maybe try a 95-97 f350 stud? I know those are 9/16. Then you'll need to swap the wheel mounting studs on the spacer back to 1/2" studs to fit your stock wheels. Or you could buy some 3" spacers that work with the stock hub studs and wheels.
