An odd diesel conversion

been given an opportunity to get a low mileage 24v cummins from a bread truck for $600, plus 12v’s are apparently made of gold and 24v’s being the red headed stepchild, are a dime a dozen. I have seen hundreds of 12v swaps, but converting to a 24v seems elusive. Of course it can be done, but having a hard time finding any build threads, explaining wiring and such, anyone have any links?

Well it's not hard the computer is right on the side of the engine. Just make sure you use a lift pump that is reliable and install a low fuel pressure cutoff with a warning light and it will save you a lot of issues with the VP44.

I’ve seen a few videos showing 3-6 wires given power and it can run on an engine stand, looking at trans options as well, looks like the nv5600 is too big without a massage job, nv4500 would work. I know alternator needs to be wired differently as it is opposite regulated.

Better yet, swap a 6.9l or 7.3l IDI into your truck. It's what all the cool kids are doing.

If you have an f250 or f350 it's practically a direct bolt-in project.
