NO Cab Heat!

I have been having a couple of problems with my cab heat. First and most important no heat. When turn the temp selector over to heat it went about a quarter of the way into the read before it got stiff. Wondering if something had spilled on it I worked it back and for the for a while and it seemed to loosen a little and go further into the red. I get some heat at this setting but no where near enough. I noticed that when I switch between defrost and vents I get a short burst of hot air. I thinking that's due to something going wrong in the blend door area.

Second and one I may not even address if it a pain is the fan blower switch doesn't work on low the other 3 settings work fine.

So far have changed the control switches at the dash with no change in performance.
Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Thumbs up

Heater core could be plugged up too. But sounds like a cable issue, mine do not have issues so I am no help...but maybe the door is catching on something or the cable is corroded.

Low not working could be the resistor. I would have to look at the schematics to check what wires to pin out.

Its not the cable I looked in behind the glove box and could see the top of it controls moving when I turned the dial. I don't know if its turning the door or if the door or something else is broken I have never worked with this part of any auto before so this is a new area. Someone told me they thought I would have to pull the entire air blend door box and everything out to change the blend door. Its not the plugged up air flows fast and hard just lukewarm.

yup, something fell down the defroster vents over the years and is blocking the blend door from swinging all the way.
i did a 95 a few years ago where the guys were complaining they had no heat for snow plowing. popped the core cover off and reached inside the box, and pulled three pencils and almost $5 worth of change out of the blend door area.
the next time they took it out they complained it roasted them out of the cab and they had to ride with the windows open, getting snow in the cab cause i forgot to tell them the temp control was now fixed.

agreed.... the only reason i did not replace the one in the 95 was because it was only 4 months old. it started leaking over the summer and one of the laborers replaced it on the job during lunch break.
he did not want it leaking on his feet on the ride home.

The blend door on mine has always been kinda... iffy.

Not sure what can cause them to suddenly change and hang up.
