Hello all, I am wanting to run my own dual exhaust system off a c6-351 windsor set up. Iit came with sanderson blockhugger headers. 1952 f3 express bed, the tubes are 1.5 inches and collectors are 2.5 inches . I want to terminate behind the rear wheels.the 351 is rebuilt, but basically stock.I am going to put the 2 mufflers back farther towards diff. What I gather is the farther back, the deeper the sound. I don't yet know what mufflers I want. My question is, do I maintain that 2.5 inches diameter all the way back? I know some of you have similar setups, thought i'd see what you did. Larry

 

With a 351 you would probably be fine with 2.5 all the way back. Smaller engines like a 302 can benefit from 2.25 rather than the larger size, and there is a trend among a lot of people to oversize their exhaust. A little restriction isn't always a bad thing. For your application I think you have a good plan, fwiw.
