Anyone ever add the OEM king ranch fender flares on a 17+ ?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone ever added the sleek OEM fender flares from the king ranch on their non-king ranch super duty? I know on the 11-16 models they just attach with screws and double sided tape, but it seems as if on the '17+ trucks their are clips that go into the body of the truck that keep them in place? As if I would need to drill the body out with holes in order to attach them? I guess anyone with a king ranch ever remove the factory fender flares or anyone ever add them on? I'm referring to the SRW trucks. These are the ones that only extend maybe an inch tops out of the fenders.

I have a set but have not yet mounted them.
Grinding the tabs off (or razor blade as I did to dry fit) gets you started. Others seemed to think that the bolts inside the wheel well would match up with the bolts already there for the fender liner. They are wrong.
So, you’ll either have to put all of your faith in tape or be willing to at least drill inside the wheel well (not visible from the outside). I quit at that point because I didn’t have enough time in the day for the expanded project... but am still intending to do it. Thinking the right thing is to drill an oversized hole and use sheet metal washer clip, the ones designed for aluminum.
You will also need different molded mud flaps if you have them.

Thanks for that picture, now I see exactly what you mean. I don't see why the double sided tape wouldn't work fine on this... especially if you use screws on the inner part of the fenders and bottom side. I guess i'll have to order a set of them and see how it turns out. I plan to put them on my '18 platinum that I am doing satin accents on. Plan to paint them satin as well.
