1995 E150 ABS C1113 and C1185
Hiave a 1995 E150. when I scan ABS (MIL is on as soon as vehicle moves) get c1113 and c1185. if i scan a second or more times without cycling key it comes back as no codes present. Van has 4wabs and it tows so I would like the ABS to work.
Fuses good, relay good, sensors replaced and working like they should. Connectors look good wires seem fine.
Unit had stored codes when I first scanned of C1194, C1198, C1202, C1210 C1214, C1206. Cleared those out and they haven't come back yet after several running cycles Every time I connect and scan koeo I hear the relay close but no pump on first attempt and it comes back with "C1185 and C1113". Subsequent attempts during same ignition cycle relay picks, pump runs and scanner comes back with "NO CODES".
Road test ABS light comes on during first stop every time.
I have no idea where to look next, and throwing parts at it is too costly. Any guidance appreciated.

NOTE:
In the event the HCU (ABS pump) *is* faulty, be prepared to jump on a site like row52.com, put out a bid to a bunch of junkyards and get a swath of offers ranging from $300-600 for a recycled part. This particular ABS system was only available on Ford E-series vans from 1994 to 1996, so be prepared to do some digging online and in your wallet.
If you're handy with a soldering iron or know someone who is, your existing HCU may be repairable:

I'd try a thorough cleaning of the tone gear and sensors first. It did the trick for me. You'll need to remove the hubs to get proper access for a cleaning with compressed air and solvents. My gears looked almost toothless with the magnetic trash and grime packed in the teeth. The sensor looked just as bad with a beard of metallic dust that would rival Dusty Hill's of ZZ Top band. Start with the simple stuff.

Thanks for the input guys.
Snap On Solus Pro reads real time from wheel sensors, really is a nice tool. All 3 were replaced a couple of weeks ago when I did the ball joints and tie rods. Sensors work as they should.
Pump will run when jumped. Control module will cycle it just not on first try. Leaning towards control module problem.

In the event the ABS ECU is at fault, you can find the part number on the old one, which on 4-wheel systems is a big black box beneath your driver's door. eBay is where I found mine. I am also aware of a dealer, Bob Allen Ford of Overland Park, KS, U.S.A., who stockpiles "new old stock" (parts 10+ years old yet sealed in original packaging).
This is a niche ABS system but your problem(s) can be conquered.

I bought a licensed pdf copy of Ford's Shop Repair manual and the Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting guide off of ebay and have been very happy with it. They have the Shop manual currently listed Here.
Being able to search keywords can really speed up the repair. If you must have a paper copy there is a listing found Here that has 3 of the 4 volumes for $200. Hope this helps.
