2018 F350 SRW Platinum Diesel Tank

I was wondering if others have this same issue. My truck should have a 34 gallon diesel tank. However, when my DTE gets to 50 or so, it only take 27 gallons to read full. So do I just have a 7 gallon reserve? I've read that there was an issue with the 2017s having a sending unit issue, but I thought that was fixed for the 2018s. Any ideas?

Mine does the same thing. We have the same truck and it always seems to be fudging the DTE calculation. I ran it to less than 30 miles DTE last Friday and it took a little over 28 gals. Just something to get used to.

First pick up truck was an F350 (2003 vintage 7.3 4x4 with a short bed) and I can't remember the fuel tank volume, but I do remember dropping the tank and doing a mod so the fuel pump didn't cut off with 5 gallons left till full. I ran a lot of Ram 3500 and 2500's in the interim - my latest truck is an '18 F350 4x4 with the 48 gallon fuel tank. I can get within 1.5 gallons when the fuel pump cuts off. Sounds like Ford still has an issue with the short bed fuel tanks after all these years.

I cured that problem on my 2019 KR, titan 55 gal. tank!

2018 with 34 gal tank. I can squeeze in 31 gal if I run the DTE down to single digits. If I fill up at the first low fuel warning, I can get about 27-28 gal.
