Lagging Sync 3 System
Hello guys. I am new to the forum and have been looking for possible solutions to fix my touch screen display. I have a 2017 srw f350 xlt 6.2. It started with disconnecting and reconnecting my phone several times while driving. It is now freezing for up to a minute before switching radio stations, navigation or any thing i select. Online i have found info on doing a master reset. I tried that with no luck15. Ford told me to dissconnect my battery for 15 minutes, tried that with no luck also. Anyone out there experience anything similar to my problem? Thanks for the imput

Common problem and most dealers should know of it.
Take your truck into the dealer.

The APIM for my F150 has been on order going on 4 weeks now.

I would try a different dealer. My dealer diagnosed it the day after I brought it in, had the module sent overnight, and was replaced the next day. They did say initially that it may take a few days to have their "guy" look at it since there were many Sync issues scheduled. However, I had the truck in for other items and they ended up looking at the Sync issue earlier than expected, which is my idea of "good" customer service.

I had mine in a few a months ago for the same thing. They ordered an APIM but weren't aware they're all the same and thought the factory sent them one for a Mustang. I remember telling the service writer they should all be the same and just need to be programmed. She said no and I went on my way as they tried to order "the correct APIM". Guessing the tech hooked it up, and when the truck was started the Mustang logo was the default. I got a call back 2 days later from her telling me I was correct and apologizing. No biggy, just be aware not all dealerships are tech savvy and they might have to fumble through it a bit to get caught up.

I want to thank everyone for their input. Update, took my truck in today. They said my problem was caused by module calibration. corrected by (e40) (04) module accessory protocol interface/syncwith mytouch reprogram. corrected module accessory protocol interface/sync and verified concern. update sync to 3.0 ssm 4744. That summed up is they hit a test button on their computer and it said good so they let me on my way after a 3 hr wait. I left the dealership and immediately noticed the same issues (lagging screen, not switching radio stations/navi, unstable connection between phone and sync) so i turned around and took it back to the dealer ship and had the service manager get in my truck while i showed him my issues. I told him what i thought it was and he agreed that the apim is bad. Now i have to wait another week for another appointment so they can retest my sync system and they will order it if that test fails. By the time i get this issue resolved i will have spent 2 months in a truck that might as well have been a 1995 ford with a radio that wont work. very frustrated at this point
