I would stick with Ford, and bleed the system correctly. I would do it 2 or 3 times to be sure, I also rented a vacuum pump form autozone to make sure it was done right.

Not sure what you'd do with a vac pump on the power steering system. A lead technician told me to turn the wheel lock to lock several times with engine running to bleed the air out. Always worked for me.

The lock to lock method works, I had issues with my pump and could not get rid of the whine, I used a method similar to the link. https://www.justanswer.com/ford/3bav...-f350-6-0.html Another member made a stopper and used a vacuum pump. I copied it and it worked like a champ. I have attached a picture similar to what I made.

FWIW the Ford shop manual says to apply vacuum as part of a multi step process to bleed the power steering/hydro boost system.

The Cardone pumps are often Made in Mexico (likely in the same plant as Ford's -- Ford actually makes very little these days).. It's "ok" stuff, BUT most of that Mexican stuff is made RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRUG CARTEL-CONTROLLED AREAS, by druggies (part time drug cartel employees) "moon lighting"

I hate to say it but Ford and other automakers are subsidizing economic activity in areas that supply 99% of the US' illegal drugs - wrecking many American lives.

Also --- get a reservoir adapter and BLEED the sys properly..................

So you're saying inspect your Mexico made parts for bags containing a white powdery substance?????????

I'd be curious to know where your information comes from. I seriously doubt someone who works for a drug cartel making easy money (substantially more than working in a factory) is going to go "moon lighting" on an auto parts manufacturing line.
