Power folding, one mirror sometimes

There is a clutch in the mirrors and they can and do come out of sequence if they are manually folded. Next time you fold it in go manually fold in the mirror that wouldn't fold. Then unfold with the switch, they should be back in sequence. The clutch is just a wafer disc with a spring and raised nubs and doesn't like to be manually folded. I had to learn all this because ford has such a hard standpoint on replacing mirrors under warranty. I took mine apart to fix the no fold issue and figured out I didn't actually have to take it apart.

Mine is a intermittent problem, it only happens once and a while......most of the time the passengers side folds a long with the drivers, with no issues..
As far as I know my trucks mirrors has never been manually folded or hit in any way. only 5000 km on the truck, and its never parked near anything that can hit it.
I will have ford check it out I guess.
