Top Loader 303 ID Help

I picked up a toploader 3 speed for a bargain price the other day. It was bolted to a 351... best I could tell by the valve covers and exhaust manifolds. The casting on it is D2AR 7006 AB and the tag is RAN CU over JC ##0995 (#= unknown number).

Any help appreciated. I've found lots of toploader charts but none of them have the AB from the casting, or the CU from the tag.

Found this one, looks like it might could be the same as yours, although that casting revision date of "D2AR" is a 1972 version, so it could have appeared in other or earlier models as well.

That's definitely it... even has the AB, but you're right about the D2 for 72.

The casting on it is D2AR 7006 AB and the tag is RAN-CU
RAN-CU = 1974 P (Maverick/Comet) 302 w/a floor shift (see application in pic below).

That's really weird because that's what the tag says, but the casting is clearly D2AR 7006 AB

D2AR-7006-AB is the casting number for the transmission case only, it is not the identification number for the trans. The trans ID number is RAN-CU

The case was used in myriad 1972/78 cars with RAN trannies.
