Trying to buy a new truck from some guy I don’t trust
I am currently thinking about buying a 1984 heritage f150 (or so the guy selling it to me says it is) one of the pics he sent me has the door tag and vin # so I have that but I need help deciding it because I don’t know how unless I payed for a vin report somewhere. Please help! I just added the photos so you can all see. Those pictures are all I have but I wish I had more. I think this guy is just clueless as to what he has. I don’t know if the pictures I just added will help. I haven’t been able to look at the title but I asked him if the vin on the door and the vin on the title match and he said yes. So he’s probably just stupid and doesn’t know. I asked him what engine was in it and he said “Its the 450 something or 464 ish...” if that doesn’t hint at the fact he definitely doesn’t know what he has. This is his description for the ad:
DULLEY! NEW TIRES RUNS PERFECT!!
ASKING $1000 Got a 1984 model 460 carb & need to know CFM & jet sizes.
Numbers on the little aluminum tag are, Motorcraft E3TE-RD B4E7
I'll look on the carb body itseft & see if any numbers stamped onto it.
Carb on the 87 model, numbers stamped onto the carb body right in front of choke flap,

1FD = FoMoCo USA - Ford Truck - Incomplete Vehicle.
J = Class H - Hydraulic Brakes - 9,001-10,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating range.
F37 = F350 2WD Cab & Chassis (no pickup bed).
L = 460 4V
8 = Check digit, FoMoCo use only.
F = 1985.
K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.
A37519 = 1985 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.
Compare the VIN printed on the Certification Label (glued to the left door face below the latch) to the VIN on the title to see if they match.
People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% were unaware that FoMoCo would issue a replacement Certification Label to match the original. Once installed, it cannot be peeled off and reused.
The only Heritage that I'm aware of, is the 2004 F150 using the body of a 1997/2003 F150.

That VIN is for a 1985 Chassis/cab F350 4x2 with a 460 V8 in it....
So, the truck has probably had the cab changed at some point. Not a big deal really...it IS fairly common. It is registered and titled as an '84 F150, correct?
Are you in Canada by the way? I've seen two Bullnose trucks for sale recently both advertised as being "Heritage F150" models....whatever that means...

OP lives in Utah. UT heritage: The Transcontinental RR was completed May 10, 1869 by the driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory Summit.

1980: The Certification Label replaced the metal Warranty Plate, that was riveted to the left door face below the latch on 1963/79 trucks.

Then what is the correct Ford terminology for the vehicle information data label sticker thingy on the driver's door frame/jamb (on the cab)? On the Bullnose trucks.

Bill we all know Ford did not make mistakes in the books did they? LOL
For the OP as long as you have the paper work that matches the door jamb & VIN tag in the wind shield and no one looks at the frame stamping I would say you may be ok.
I don't think the DMV cares if it is not a CC with a 460 motor but the paper work has to match the truck.

edit: I just got to thinking, yea I know! We need to see a picture of this truck. It could be a CC 460 truck that the seller is calling something else because some one replaced the rusted fenders with ones from a F150 and why it is called that.

Ok, except the certification label you're referring to is actually on the cab, not on the door...can we at least agree on that part?
