So I was talking to the guys at 4DTech and they said the truck had to have an upper trim harness/steering column to accommodate the wheel and controls, yet I have seen one XL guy and one STX (just an XL spitshined) guy do this mod with claims it works.
Maxum96 you had a non sync XLT? Did you upgrade your head unit as well?

I have the most basic of XL trucks; base stereo with the tiny screen. Frankly, I don't care about the screen size anyway. Just want to be able to control the audio via the wheel.
1) does anyone know if the harness in the column will accept the wheel upgrade on ALL XLs?
2) anyone got pictures of the specific harness needed behind the wheel?
I have not yet bought the Forscan, but I'm putting together a list of things I want to change out; keypad on door, steering wheel swap, blinker count change, etc
