Front air bags ?? How do you like them

hey guys I put a winch on the front of my truck with a receiver that built. It’s heavy and I can tell it’s bringing the front of my truck down. Visually I can see it and the tires are showing wear on the inside. It’s up to date on alignment and drives pretty straight. So I have two options, take the winch off or stronger suspension. But I’ve got 2” over stock springs (leveling kit).
Do you think the air bags will help me. I was going to order them from bronco grave yard. I emailed them asking if the will work in a levled truck but they haven’t replied yet....
thanks in advance

Just get the truck realigned now that the springs have settled with the weight of the winch

I have air bags in my truck for the weight of the plow. I don’t have any air in them when the plow and mount are off. I would start with Brad’s suggestion of having the alignment checked now that it has settled.

how long have you had them for ? How much do they lift the truck? I don’t want them so I can have a taller truck I just want my truck to sit level again. I know what you mean about re-aligning the wheels now that it’s settled, it’s the obvious solution, but I paid 200$ to get springs so my truck sits 2” above stock. So I’m going to make sure it continues to sit 2” above stock. If that requires 100$ for air bags so be it. I’m just worried that the bags won’t work in over sized springs

I have had the Firestone “coil-rite” helper air bags for four years. I do not know since I’ve never measured. I have Moog 844 coil springs so they do not squat a whole lot.

An alignment will not effect the ride height of the truck. It will however correct the negative camber problem that is wearing out the inner edge of your tires. The springs settling have changed the height.

What engine is in the truck? and what leveling kit do you have?

Air bags are quite a bit more than $100

It’s got a 351 and a rough country 1.5” leveling kit. I found a set of air lift bags for 81$ CDN plus shipping

Oh, so you have an add-a-leaf or the mini spring pack? I suggest looking at big block/diesel springs to offset the weight of the winch

here isa 2" lift spring that also has a rating to carry the extra weight

I already have air bags in the rear. I’m looking for the front. But today I started leaning towards spacers under the springs, maybe an inch.

I am assuming that the suggestion for big block/ diesel springs in addition to the front leaf spring link means that Brad is thinking you have a 3/4T truck. You profile says you have a 1/2T so they is what I was going by. I don’t know the spring rate on your lift springs but if they are too soft for the added weight of the winch they will settle as yours have done.
