best bedliner with 5th wheel hitch
I am looking for the best way to line my 2017 SD long bed crew cab with a factory Reese 5th wheel plate. I know I will have to remove it to install liner but want to know any experience with this. I am leaning towards the grey felt liner with rubber backing. Has anyone installed? do I just need to trim around the 4 hitch mount holes? I just want a liner to protect from scratches and easy on my knees when crawling around etc. Thanks for advice.

I've been wondering this too. Planning to buy an F350 to haul a fifth wheel, and will order it with the Ford puck system. Will a bed mat be too thick to let the hitch connect properly to the pucks? I have a mat in my Taco and it has been great; I wanted to do the same when I step up to the F350 if I can. I have seen a couple of pics on here of you guys with the rugs... beautiful! Except how do you keep it looking so good where the hitch rests, or am I seeing the pics right after install and before a season's towing LOL? Not too mention the rest of the bed. My mat in the Taco, after three years, is a little scuffed but nothing major and the ease of use is great.

I have linex and a smaller cheap rectangle shaped rubber mat from Tractor Supply store that I cut up around the 5th attachments....
I like having the mat for 5th wheel use and keeping things from sliding....
but I also haul stuff that is better off without a mat (dirt, rock, mulch) and I wanted something easily removed

I dont know anything about 5th wheels but my dad had a bedrug installed in his ram 1500 and in 2 years it had many torn areas and was all stained up. Complete garbage if you ask me. And my dad is a physically handicapped old guy that babys his truck like its a porche. It certainly never got worked hard. Hauling his electric scooter or odd 2x4 is about all he ever did. I currently have a ram 1500 with linex and it has held up perfectly through many waterfowl seasons, firewood seasons, scrap metal hauls, and sliding my fish hauling tanks in and out. Very durable.

Not entirely correct. Yes some dealers use local folks when the truck doesn't come from the factory and the customer wants it. But Ford does do this during the build process. You can tell when its a Ford job because they spray over every bolt and tie down where Line X dealers remove it.
