1964 F100 Wipers don't shut off!
P.O. had the wiper switch out of the dash when I purchased the truck. Couldn't figure out why until today. Went to put new blades on the wipers and now they won't shut off. I pulled the hot wire so I could drive the truck and I could put a toggle switch between the switch and the hot wire but that seems to be a jury rigged solution. Is there something in these switches that can be cleaned or adjusted? Where do I find a replacement switch ( single speed )? Thanks again, Chief

If it’s the same as a heater switch, it will have a plastic throw disk with a spring, and a copper disc. The position of the switch turns the flat copper disk to make contact with the pins allowing a curcuit to connect. It’s possible it is broken inside there.
i don’t know about buying a single speed switch, I ended up buying the new dual speed deal with wiper motor from Dennis Carpenter a while ago. My truck is a 63. I didn’t like having a 55 year old electric motor with hacked wiring under my dash when everything else is new. Same with my heater motor and switch, it was 55 years old and the ghost was let out of the wire.

Messed around with the truck again today. Got the new wipers on but they still won't shut off. There is a black steel slotted adjustment screw on the drivers side of the motor that turns about 1/2 a turn. Turned it everyway I could and made no difference. The only thing I found out while messing around is that if you turn the ignition off when the wipers are near the "park" position the wipers will not go back on when you turn the ignition on again. Really un handy but any ideas on how to fix this? Really confused.

Getting discouraged!
Ok, Taking the advice from this forum I removed the wiper motor from the truck and took it apart. Adjusted the parking points as per the manual. Plugged the motor in (without installing under dash) and it does exactly the same thing ( won't stop). My current questions are: 1. What terminals on the motor do I put power to so that it should run and then park so I can test motor bypassing the switch? 2: I noticed when testing the plug that goes into the motor that I do have power to the terminals as in the manual both with switch on and off but the green wire (C in the manual diagram) is hot all the time the ignition is on. Is this correct? Thanks again for all the help so far. Chief
