Steering Wheel Blues 1963 F-100

I bought a Grant wheel and the adapter raises the wheel another 4 inches or so. Puts it right in the middle of my belly. What kind of wheels did you guys find a solution with. One that uses a shorter adapter. 1963 F-100 OEM column

You have to really pay attention to the "dish" of each wheel. That's the amount it protrudes out from the hub. The problem is that the less dish a wheel has, the more likely it is to hit your legs. Then you need a smaller diameter. So it's a balance between those two values.

I used a Grant 969-0 and that was the best balance I could find. But it blocked my view of the speedo. I later shortened the column and built a permanent tilt into it. That was really the best solution for me.

This might help with the height.

I used a '64 T'bird wheel. Looks good (to me), similar leverage (1/2 less diameter, no power steering), and was a bolt-on.
