99 F250 No dash, running lights or clearance lights

Ok, this is driving me crazy. My 99 F250 has no dash, running lights or clearance lights, the headlights, turn signals, and brake lights work. I checked the fuses, tried out a new headlight switch, pulled the dash and looked for breaks in the tan and white wire leading from the headlight switch and traced the wiring back from the tail lights to the engine compartment, everything looks good so far. The next thing I'm thinking about doing is pulling out the power distribution box and looking for corrosion. I'm stumped on this one though, has anyone seen this?

I thought I recal another with this problem and it wound up being the headlight switch.

You really need to get out a multi-meter or a test light and start making logical tests to see where the power is getting lost. Otherwise, you're pretty much guessing and that gets to be expensive, time consuming, and frustrating unless you happen to hit the lucky number with a guess.

Do you have a meter or test light? If not, you'll need to get one.

I had all the same symptoms on my 03' It was the headlight switch, I replaced the switch and it worked for a few days, then it happened again, then they worked again, then they went out again. Here's what I found. I bought the switch from ebay, supposedly OEM, it came in the Ford / Motorcraft box, but looking at the plug when I pulled the switch out again, I noticed that the switch and plug was kind of a sloppy fit, so I folded some paper up and stuffed it down into the plug housing and tightened it up real good. I haven't had a problem since. The only problem I couldn't figure out is that My dash lights only have one level, you can't dim or brighten them. That may be in the switch or in the cluster itself, but I can live with what I have.
