first tow

Finally got 1100 miles on it, time to do some towing. Just in time too, the fall utv riding season has arrived. Did a quick 100 mile trip on both highway and interstate to see if there were any bugs. The f250 was like "your puny, little, girly trailer makes me laugh, HA HA" Yes, i know it is only maybe 5K trailer/load, but someday I may hopefully get a toyhauler. It was way better towing than the 4.6L F150 i had before. More power, no straining going up the hills. It was in 4th or 5th depending on hill size, and it has a nice smooth shifting transmission. it has a nice v8 rumble at 3K rpm. 6% grade doesn't seem steep until you start going up it for several miles. Better shocks no more bouncing on the rough roads, and better brakes. Just felt better all round towing period. Dash display said I was averaging 13mpg, but the first 100 miles on that tank was unloaded.

Sounds like fun. We recently went to Moab with ours and had a blast (other than the 108 temp). I did miss the diesel while running up I-70 through the CO mountains but the 6.2L still did a great job It's just different .
