Oil change light less than 2k miles

So I got my oil changed 1800 miles ago and the change oil light already came on....this is a first. It’s been around 5k miles in the past. 2017 6.7 SRW...Mileage is at 19466 right now. Curious if anybody else has had this happen? It’s been light duty with no towing...most weight it’s had is the groceries haha

thanks,
Dan

I'd guess that the oil change reminder wasn't reset when it was changed last.

I'm at 3000 miles and have 14% oil life left but the build date was almost a year ago.

I have the same thing going on right now. Anyone know how to reset it so I don’t have to “ok” it every time I start it?

Owners manual will tell you how to reset it.

Go to the Oil Life screen and press and hold until it clears. Very easy to. Somebody just forgot to do it at your last oil change.

Sorry to hijack but do I need Forscan to get the oil info? 17' 6.7 Lariat. I don't have any oil info. Just hit 7500 miles and no reminders, warnings, lights or anything.

It was reset. It was going off when I dropped it off to get it changed in June. It hasn’t dinged until now...just curious how it coulda burned through 2 gallons of oil already? Or is it possible it wasn’t reset all of the way?

I got 4000 miles now and I was gonna wait till the oil minder directed me to change oil.

So so should I change oil now or wait.... ? Is there a case for changing early?

Where do I learn my oil is 65% used ?

on your screen in front of wheel move all the way over to settings, go to advance settings, select vehicle, select oil life reset. This will show you percent remaining/and that's also where you reset it within that screen by pressing and holding. Vehicle must be stationary to do it.

Thanks, I been to that screen but was afraid I’d be trapped into resetting the oil minder.....

I’ll check it out this morning.

Is the oil life % something that has to be turned on in FORSCAN? The only way I can see my % is in the FordPass app.

yeah the 6.7 won’t give you the percent like the gasser will. It goes off a different metric I guess. My oil life % is blank anytime I look at it.
