460 4x4 engine swap to I6
i have a 93 f150 with just over 345k. She's still a solid truck and I want to keep her but I've just moved to the country in mid-Missouri and I need 4x4. I'm tired of getting stuck. There is a 95 f350 4x4 crew cab with a blown 460 for sale nearby for 700$. My question is, will the 300 have enough guts to move the larger truck to highway speeds in a reasonable manner. Will the 350's towing capacity be greatly diminished. Will the 300 bolt straight onto the auto in place? I know ford offered this engine in that body, but I can't imagine that there were too many takers. Would it be difficult to find the right computer for that combo?
Im hoping to be able to tow a 30+ ft fifth wheel trailer with a 40 horse Kubota and random implements on it.
thanks for any feedback
