My '49 F-1 Update with pics

It has been awhile since the purchase this past January from dishonest seller, but my '49 F-1 is making headway and is getting "sorted out". It is far from a beauty and going with the "farm truck" look was an easy decision given all the dents, dings, etc. This one was not about to become a long-term restoration project and will always be a "driver", but is serves the purpose of my purchase: a working truck capable of highway travel, reliable and able to haul my stuff. So what if the 302 engine, which works just fine, is from a 1974 Maverick and has a two barrel carb in front of a rebuilt C4. I could care less it it wins "worst of show" but at the same time people seem to connect more with it versus the one in perfect condition next to it on the field. Next is to tackle rattles, replace glass in doors, some rubber items, etc. Actually to the point of having fun! I ask people I am about to take out when was their last tetanus shot? The truck has a slight sheen due to a coat of Zymol cleaner/wax. BTW: the pitted chrome hood ornament is from a '54 Ford I think. I lived in Detroit from 1950 to 1955, at the height of Mo-Town's success. So the ornament with fins, rockets and swept wings reminds me of those days in my youth.

So that is shiny rust or patina not brown paint? I think it looks great! Thanks for the pics.

Awesome!
Lots of these trucks get stripped down to the frame, and then about 10% of the way through the rebuild the owner abandons it due to the unexpected costs and time requirements.
You will have alot more fun keeping it driving while you do slow upgrades.
