Going out of the 3 year/36k mile warranty.. Things to check?
In a few months, a 2016 F450 6.7L will exceed the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.
Things to check? Things to look out for?
Gotta tell'ya.. Is has been very good and has never been in the shop for repair.
Drive train is 5 year 60,000 miles
Motor is 5 year 100,000 miles
Certain Emissions Parts 8 years 80,000 miles

If I remember correctly, the engine warranty covers all internally lubricated parts, not the stuff bolted to it. So, with the high cost of certain parts you may or may not need, like a HPFP, I opted to go with an extended warranty.
I don't know if this issue affects later model year trucks, but earlier ones had developed coolant leaks from a hose with a swedge fitting at the intake manifold near the turbo.
If you have not done so already, replace the CAC tube. Ford made it out of plastic and the numerous heating and cooling cycles of the engine weakens the plastic and it fails. Ford will not replace it unless it fails, leaving you stranded. Rudy's diesel has a nice metal offering for under 200 clams.

I passed on the extended warranty and was glad I did. Check the water pumps for seepage, as well as the lower corner of the primary radiator on the drivers side, some used to develop a leak there, although for 16 they made a change (left out a bolt) and that seems to have helped. You might also check underneath for the beginning signs of an oil leak, there have been one or two guys who have upper oil pan issues or vacuum pump
