2008 f250 6.4 $11,000 question

Hello- Found a 2008 for $11,000 fully loaded in excellent condition. 132,000 miles, owner says major service in 2017, new brakes and wheel bearings and full tune up. Any advice on what to look for is appreciated.

yes...you should look for google and search for 6.4l problmes, 6.4l issues, etc.

id tell you to buy it if it had 25K miles, but with over 125k miles you would be playing Russian roulette with 5 bullets in a six shooter.

What Fritz is saying............how does it sound while running at idle?

If your diesel experienced, a washed out 6.4 sounds like typing class. If you get an "A" consider it. A "c" means that it's time to start ripping in. Rockers, to the cam.

"C" meaning class is skipped and you hear typing. I'm sure you've read, but that is the frailest part of a 6.4 and it's easy to walk by one, like an ageing dog and say it's time.

Not a big deal if you can do it, but definitely a consideration. Not a total bummer. (But enough to bend a price sharply) Roughly 1.5 k.

Get a history log from the archives of maintenance if available. Run on line maintenance that has/not been completed or successful.

Big one would be (time permitting) pull an oil sample and send it out. Blackstone (tell all)
