TorqShift-G (6R100) Tranny Sanity Check
#2
Been a few reports of odd shifts. But no major issues. The transmission in base (ZF HP26) form has been around for a long time and the real issues were worked out long ago. Stay within limits of it and you will be fine.

I've noticed the clunk sound/feel mentioned above when reapplying gas and traveling at ~25mph and its in 4th gear. More like U-joint. My 2002 had similar issue but it had 125k vs 14k.
I have also noticed on rare occasion when shifting to reverse more noise than I would expect.

Exactly like described in this thread:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ine-clunk.html
When letting off the gas or suddenly re-applying it, frequently causes a "Clunk" to be heard and felt below the truck - best way to describe it is slop in the drive-line somewhere. Seems to be almost exclusively reported by those with 6.2/TorqShift-G.

Thanks for sharing the thread. I hadn't seen that one. It does seem related more to TorqShift-Gs but not exclusively. It almost seems related more to Sterling rears as there was a few F250 6.7s in the thread. They'd have 6R140 trannies but most likely have the Sterling rear vs the Dana rear.
