Question Intermittent Power Windows

My truck is a 2003 F-350 CC XLT.

Had the windows fail to close several times in the last week or two, never a problem opening them from full close, but once this problem occurs they will not go up or down... until they do.

Slamming the driver's door a time or two has helped before, but not today.

I suspect a loose connection right at the switches, how do I get the switch panel off without breaking it?

Mirrors and door locks work just fine even when the window switches don't work. Don't think it is the window disable rocker switch, but maybe... Any thoughts on what it might be are appreciated, hopefully it is an easy fix and I don't end up needing schematics.

Rain expected in a few hours, and the windows are all down six inches.

Does the radio shut off at the same time as the window failure? If so, this is a common issue with wiring on the door switch. I have the same issue about once a month, still need to trace it down, but usually after about 10 sec the issue goes away. I'm suspecting a bad ground.

I'll have to pay attention to the radio.

The switches did start working again several short trips later, so the windows are rolled up now. Beat the rain by a few minutes.

ETA: The radio is on almost all the time, but I don't really listen to it so might not notice if it was not working...

It does seem to be related to the radio.

The PO added an XM/Sirius radio to the truck, and when the small power LED is flashing (for a short time after starting the truck), the window controls do not work.

Once the LED goes to steady on, the window controls do work.

While the question of why this happens is not resolved, at least it now seems there is not some intermittent connection which will cause my windows to get stuck open.

Mostly I'm surprised I did not trip over this problem much earlier as I've had the truck now for almost nine months and really only became conscious of the issue recently.

Now that I am aware of the radio, I will monitor to see if this is consistent.
