Agreed! I’ve actually had to start using only certain stations as many require you to run your card twice to put that much in a tank, which is annoying.

I wish I could find fuel that cheap $3.159/gal. We're at ~$3.40

I've started just buy $200 at a time instead of filling up. I don't want to run my card more than twice. as it usually will not, I have to swap cards at that point. In my DD F350 I can carry 94 usable gallons now, my new set-up will be 123 gallons, @ $3.4 that would be $420 fill-up.

Last few months I've been wondering when the CC's and service stations will raise the limit again.

My boat had two 75 gallon tanks. Marine grade fuel was $5/gal (and higher at times) for many years. Dropping $800 to fill them sucked, as did burning 12-14 gallons per hour.

If you burn a lot of fuel, check out the PNC Bank Cash Rewards Visa. It gets you 4% off all fuel purchases. It tops out at $8,000 in fuel purchases per year, but that's $320 in cold hard cash annually

How or why would you publish your boats fuel tank size in a Ford truck Titan tank thread? The point of the thread is to say how much additional fuel a Titan tank holds and the current cost to fill it. Not what your boat took years ago or how much it burned in a hour.

Sorry for the hijack OP. It's an inside joke between me and my good buddy roadpilot. I too love my Titan tank and grin and bear it at the pump. The worst is when the pump cuts you off at $100 and won't reauthorize on the same cc. I carry a second card now just to avoid going inside to reauthorize. First world problems for sure!

^^^^ To hijack some more. I just happened to throw away some old fuel receipts from my sun visor as I was leaving work today. From '04 I was paying ~1.30/gallon, ahhh, the gool-ole-days.

A gallon of milk was .98 cents at Walmart on a recent trip to Mammoth Cave KY. I still can't figure that one!

in my hometown in ky it is 1.00 a gallon. but if you go 20 miles south its over 2.00 a gallon. local walmarts will sometimes engage in price wars with other local grocery stores.

i looked into getting one of these but decided to spend the money on a tool/gas auxiliary tool box for the bed. couldn't justify spending over 1000 for 20 more gallons.

I wonder if the 6.2L will run on high octane (2% or above) milk?

Considering a Titan tank upgrade. Was wondering tpslmer if you had a 4x4 and had any concerns over the 1 1/2 inch loss of ground clearance with the Titan? Also, if you have the stock skid plates, do you lose them with the Titan?

At 10-11 mpg towing across the country the extra 200-300 miles is huge! Unload my mpg is 15-17, so this truck the
the titan tank could go 900 miles unloaded and over 500 towing heavy.

Curt, I completely agree. With over 44' of RV behind me, I love being able to stop and fuel where I want and not be a slave to a smaller tank. Or stop at a scenic rest area for lunch with the family instead of some gross truck stop. Best money I've spent on my truck.

Dave, you do loose the factory skid but for me, it's not a concern. I don't go hard core offloading or anything like that. My running boards and diffs are much lower than the tank anyways. Plus, the Titan is tough. They sell a ton to the guys in the oil fields in TX who bang them off stuff all the time without failures.

I agree with Karl4Cat, the loss of the skid plate and a minor amount of ground clearance is a non-issue. There’s still a ton of room underneath and have not had a problem yet even on some pretty rough/uneven trails. I’ve had it installed for about a year and I’m very happy with the flexibility it provides.
