Pulling 5.4 DOHC with transmission

I’ve been going through all the threads (this forum and others) to find some detailed answer.

I have a wrecked 2000 Navi 2wd. I’m wanting to pull the engine and trans as one unit. With the intake on.

Some people have mentioned doing what I’ve stated but not given specifics. Such as where they attached the cherry picker.
I will be removing the entire front end. The Navi will end up at the wrecker in pieces.

If I have to take the intake off I will, but was hoping not to.

Is it safe to use straps on the exhaust manifolds?

Well it would be good to have an answer for people in different situations than me, but I have no need for the rest of the Navigator. So I’m just gonna cut the Navigator up until all I have is the engine and the frame.

well its always best to pull the trans. But if u want it to come out complete.Well me personally have never pulled a nav complete.Pulll the intake, radiator and all accessories and try if it still dont come out the loosen the body mounts all the way to rear doors then jack the body up a bit.Is the motor seized and u cant get the converter bolts?

Bought it for the motor. Going in something else.

I’m cutting the rest up after, might as well do that first and expose the engine.

I cut the radiator support then use the exhaust manifolds and another strap to the tail housing of the trans.
