Door locks not working automatically - 2011 F350

Door locks suddenly quit working automatically.

All 4.

Vacuum issue right? Where to start the troubleshoot?

Thanks experts!

Think they’re electrical, not vacuum.....start with the fuse.

do they work individually? If it’s just the drivers door switch that’s not locking them, the switch itself may be bad or just need cleaning

My mistake for thinking vacuum.

It’s all 4 doors not working. The key fob won’t operate them along with driver door switch.

If not the fuse is it the BCM causing the problem?

Thanks.

fuse,
broken wire
loose connector
corrosion at connector.

last would be BCM...

Follow the power from fuse to BCM.

could even reset the computer.. disconnect the battery cables... for 5 minutes.

Are you using the switch at the door, or your key fob? If fob, check the batteries. If switch, you need to get into the wiring of the switch and see what's going on. That sounds very typical of a fuse, or the switch itself died.

Great ideas. Will follow you guys advice.

When using the key fob where is that signal being sent? The fact that neither the key fob, the actual door switch nor the numerical pad on the drivers door has any effect on locking or unlocking.

The key fob sends the signal to an antenna somewhere (I am not sure where). But if none of that stuff works, it certainly sounds like a fuse. Have you pulled the manual out and hunted down the fuses that could cause this? That should be your starting point.

If memory serves me right the antenna for the key fob is inside the roof. BTM

One other thing you may want to check is your battery (ies). If it/they are dying, it could cause this also. How old are they/it? (Do you have a diesel, or gas?)

I’ve got the complete manual from AllDataDIY which is a great resource.

However posting here always gets me pointed in the right direction and then I can use the manual to look at wiring diagrams, fuse locations and stuff. Heck I thought these things were vacuum so you can see you got me heading the right way lol.

Batteries are very good. It’s a diesel. I’m out of town for a couple days but will check the fuse and if that’s ok will disconnect the batteries to give the computers a chance to reset.

Again thanks. Glad you guys take the time to help out.

It was a blown 30-amp fuse (F-20) in the Body Control Module.

Thanks for the help gents!

Well the locks worked for about 5 seconds then the fuse blew once again.

Going to have to spend the $$$ and take it to my local Ford diesel mechanic as they will be better able to troubleshoot where the short is located.

Might be a switch that got wet but honestly it's to the point where I'll let the experts diagnose.

Do appreciate the help here.
