Right now when I play a song from my phone or usb flash drive the Sync 3 screen only shows the album and song name. Is it possible to have it also display the year of the song?

 

I don't believe that info is stored in the MP3 format. I do not remember seeing it. I'll check on it.

 

All my music files are in MP3 format and they play fine. I am just trying to find out what I have to do to the music files such that it will display the year the song was made. I know the year is in the properties. I think, though, I need to somehow the year to the name of the file somehow.

 

The info that is being displayed is gotten from the MP3 file. There is a header record within the MP3 file that holds data like Artist, Title, Album Cover etc., but as I said do not remember ever seeing a field that has the release date of the song.

 

I thought the album and artist may be coming from the title,so I ,made sure to format it that way. If the information is coming from the properties then I have no idea. I can say all the songs have a field with a year in it, but it simply is not displayed. I will do some experimenting.
