I'm looking at a 2018 lariat. It does not have quad beam headlights. Is this an easy plug and play upgrade or do they require a special harness, ballast, etc? Thanks in advance.

I know it`s a pricey option but if you decide to purchase a new truck, spend the extra money getting the factory Quad Beam LED headlights. If you don`t want to go that route, go on a website called "The Retrofit Source" and take a look at the OEM LED headlight kit or the new Morimoto kit that`s coming out soon.
Factory "halogen housings" are not made or designed for LED bulb swaps/replacements.
That is true. It's the oncoming traffic that is typically displeased with the aftermarket flood lights.
I disagree.... I have Beamtech...and just did 3.5" level lift ...and adjusted headlights down... Still have not been flashed from on coming traffic ...pre lift or post lift.
Waaaaaaay cheaper than factory LED or the replacement LED headlights assy.
Say what you will, but many here have made that swap and are completely happy with it.
Yeah, folks claim improvements when switching to LED bulbs. I know I did when I installed LED bulbs in my motorcycle 2-1/2 years ago. But I also had to pay attention to how far the bulb protruded into the housing, and rotated the bulb 11° further than the bulb's design allowed to align better with the reflectors. I still like the improved lighting on my bike, but it pales in comparison to the factory LEDs on my KR. LED bulbs emit light much differently than the varieties of glass enclosed bulbs. However, the biggest difference between OEM and aftermarket LED lighting is not due to the bulbs, it's the reflectors. The factory headlight reflectors were designed for LED bulbs where that is not true when one swaps out halogen bulbs for LED.
+1 for beamtechs. Awesome LEDs, crystal clear, good coverage, adjusted perfectly with 4” lift. Factory LEDs are cool too if you’re going for the look of the DRLs and want to stay OEM. For me, I’d rather use that couple thousand to buy other toys. 🤙
I’ve always been an XLT guy and been happy with that trim level but I have to say the headlights on my 18 are much worse than the previous XLT I had. They don’t light the ditches like previous trucks did and they don’t cast light as far down the highway. At this point I’ve decided it’s Ford’s way of steering buyers into higher trim levels/expensive headlight packages!
