Stop lamp switch

first off thanks for everyones help so far.
can anyone decipher the wires coming out of the blocks on a 1960 f100, i bought a laminated wiring diagram but around 60% of the colors are different to mine.
i am trying to wire up a stop lamp switch but cant seem to find the correct wires!!

black/red and brown wires, not sure where they go!

bit of a mess here.

Am I seeing that right you have chunk of plywood as the adapter to fit the newer style master cylinder ?

Not to be derisive but sure as the hell hope you are not planning on driving it like that.

truck is not being driven yet, wood adaptor is to use as the template for the steel one, just hooked it all up to fit master cylinder and bleed system. on the live wire bit, the pic below is what was wired up when the old cylinder was on and i had brake lights, ive checked the pressure switch on the new cylinder and all good there. all the lights and indicators work but no matter how i configure the live to the wires "i think are the right ones" i can get brake lights. the previous guy done a lot of chopping to run a modern style alternator so the loom will be replaced but not yet.

the pic below is how the old master cylinder was wired up and i had brake lights!!

All sorted now, the original wire had snapped in the loom, must have happened whilst being moved about.
The bit i dont understand is why my wires from FORD sockets are different from all the wiring diagrams ive seen for a 1960 truck!! did ford just use any colors they wanted?
