Extended Warranty

Extended Warranty
I never buy extended warranties through my dealer when buying a new car since I can always find them a lot cheaper through someone on the forums. This is my first Ford truck and was wondering if anyone on here knows someone I can order an extended warranty through. I made my purchase on April 15th so I am hoping I'm not too late. Thanks for any info!

I bought the 8 year 75k mile one at dealer cost from my local dealer. I paid less than the best prices I got by calling around to the popular remote dealers by negotiating it with the sale. As far as I can tell from my own research, the dealer didn't make a dime on that ESP. But they did sell the truck that day because of the deal we made.
The main reason I went for it was that on my '11, which was also a KR but had fewer gizmos, I had a couple of things go out at ~50k and ~6 years that would have cost me a few grand to fix. The sunroofs on these things are notorious for breaking, and at least on the '11 it was a $1000 fix. for a little plastic rail. dealer said the entire interior would have to be removed in order to drop the formed headliner and get to that plastic rail. My 110VAC inverter also went out and i had some leather issues that would have been covered if I had the ESP. Granted, the new style panoramic roof is much easier to fix, but they still have plastic rails that still break. In between Super Duties I had a '16 F-150. at around 12k miles, the sunroof cracked a plastic rail. That one was fixed under warranty without removing the headliner (or interior) but it was enough for me to bite the bullet and protect my investment in the new truck. The way I see it, the powertrain warranty is long enough to get past any "crib death" scenarios that could crop up with the engine or transmission. The ESP covers all the tech type stuff that I feel is a lot more prone to having issues down the road than the rock solid drivetrain. You make your own decision, but that's how I made mine. HTH.
