Wheel Spacers

Does anybody know where I can find wheel spacers with a centerbore specific for the Aerostar? I’m running a set of non-Ford wheels and the offset is close but needs to be pushed out approximately 10mm. Any help with this would be much appreciated! Many spacers are available but I haven’t been able to locate anything with a specific centerbore. Hoping to find something with a better fit than the generic pieces you find at the local auto parts store.

eBay search using your bore size, 64.1mm
At that thickness (10mm) you'll likely end up with a shim style spacer, rather than adapter style, and then be needing an equivalent extension to your studs.

I was concerned with the center bore of the Explorer wheels I got for my Aerostar; the Explorer wheels have slightly bigger bore, so they don't get hub-centered on the Aerostar hubs. But they were centered just fine by the lug nuts; they run very smoothly with no vibrations at all. So find yourself some beefy lug nuts. I got the stock Explorer lug nuts which held the wheels perfectly centered, and provided the attachment points for the stock hub caps:

I was concerned about the stud length. The aluminum wheel flange is a bit thicker than the stock steel wheels, so the studs didn't stick through as far. So when I tightened the nuts on them, they did not have as many threads showing as stock. I was thinking seriously about installing longer studs, especially if I experienced any wheel wobble on turns. But a year later while I was rotating the tires, I saw no distress on any of the studs or nuts, so I stayed with the originals.

I thought centerbore size was 70.6? With a 5mm shim I was thinking longer studs wouldn’t be neccesary

I’m not concerned with the wheels having a larger centerbore but want the spacer’s centerbore to be 64.1mm. This is why I posted a thread weeks back curious how thick the center section of a Aerostar brake rotor is. (I’ve yet to confirm this). My idea is to cut off (with a metal lathe) the surface where the lug holes/hub centerbore pass through. That becomes an exact fitting spacer. I did this on a ‘72 Chevelle I owned and the result was perfect.

After an hour of searching, I found ‘shim style’ spacers on Ebay. They are 5mm thick, hub-centric, and reasonably priced. They are on their way, we’ll see...
