SO, after mounting the HD wheels on the Ex, I was checking the AC system and heard a hiss coming from beneath the Ex. So, i was wiggling the lines beneath (on passenger side underbody), when one line snapped at the hose connector, and spewed green dye. So, I am assuming this is an A/C line with the green dye trace (Am I assuming correct?)
The connector off of the hard line snapped, but the connector on the rubber hose still in tact.
Is the hard line connector repairable, or do I need a new line? If it is a new line, anyone know what it is called or a part number? If it is repairable, would a shop be able to repair?
Here is pic. I zipped them together so that they aren't hanging. (i also covered the openings, not shown in pix).
The line on top is the hard line, with the broken connector. This line goes to the rear of the vehicle A/C system. The hose on bottom goes to the front of vehicle.
The other option I was thinking, this A/C line i assume is feeding refrigerant to the rear A/C system. Could I cap this off at the rubber hose line, since I don't really use the rear system. If so, anyone know if there are caps that are sold for this or is it possible to make my own?

The only "cap" you could apply, that I can think of, would be to convert the hose to the F250/350 hose/hard line that comes from the compressor. There is no "Y" in it for the rear AC system we have...otherwise it is the same fittings and length. That would bypass the rear AC system, get the front going again and you would be using all Ford OEM parts.
Thx Mike and Hightec for the feedback. I am going to try to get the hose fixed so that I can have the rear A/C working as well.
I need to find a junk yard that I can pull part of the hardline with a working fitting.
Then I was searching the web and found Dorman splice kit, so that I can splice the hardline/fitting to the existing hardline.
looks like it is windows down for a while until I can get parts...
