200 straight six from Maverick
Would this be an easy swap into my '55 with the 223, 3 on the tree? Bolt to stock transmission? Same motor mounts? Nothing funny with ignition? Still running 6v positive ground. This engine came out of a '70 Maverick that was attached to a C4. He bought the combo for the trans. Was told by a co worker that it has 70,000 miles on it. My engine smokes pretty badly. If there are to many things to change, or parts to buy I will have to pass, even @$1xx.
Looks like the hole for the starter is in the right place, everything else is on the opposite side.

If you are looking for a simple "plug and play" engine swap I think you're out of luck. But, anything is possible if you have the time, money, patience and fab skills.
It might be cost effective to just freshen up your existing engine.
The 200ci is a decent little engine, the biggest downside to them is that the intake manifold is part of the head so you don't have any options for upgrades. I had one in a little 65 Falcon with a C4. What a great little car. The thing got 24MPG and was a blast to drive, but you had to plan ahead for a long hill.
