Question Anyone hae or recall the part number for the updated steering gear?

I thought I saved it but back in the last year someone had posted a part number for an updated
Power Steering gear box for out trucks. The part number was for a new box and it was from Ford.

I am in the process of getting ready to order a box and Like I said can't find the PN or price.

Thanks

The only part number I have is 7C3Z-3504-ARM

#Edit - found this thread you posted in:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ring-gear.html

You posted the number below:
7C3Z-3504-B

Is this the old part or the updated one?

The “RM” at the end of the part number is for remanufactured, so hopefully the other part # is the new one

looks like the -B part number has been superseded by

DC3Z-3504-E

RockAuto has it listed as STG463, $355 plus $225 core...actually cheaper than the reman version

Anyone care to guess why the new steering box for my Excursion is $1100?

I've read that the Excursion has a slightly different ratio to make turning easier, and am sure Ford made far fewer of these boxes for service parts. That being said, an SD gearbox will bolt right up.

I think I found the reason...it looks like the new Ford steering box RockAuto has listed for the 05 Excursion is actually for an F750

I started researching because I know the steering boxes are the same on the 250/350/Excursion...and rockauto only had the expensive box listed for the 05 Excursion, nothing else

Good catch. And I found the thread I was thinking about. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1147301-redhead-steering-box-group-buy-3.html#post11583782

The Excursion is 17:1 and the SD are ~20:1.
