will the real ubolt size please stand up - 2010 f-450 DRW dana 110 axle

will the real ubolt size please stand up - 2010 f-450 DRW dana 110 axle

so im buying a 3" lift block for my 2010 f-450 which has the giant 110 axle. not the f-350/250 spacer arrangement.

one of the open questions is new ubolts needed. I tired to order and was told that I needed to measure...came up with measurements that dont match the product choices.

im getting center of bolt to center of bolt of 4". so is this a 4" ubolt
im getting 3 1/6 inside of one bolt to the inside of the other. so is this a 3" ubolt.

then...my ubolts look square .they wrap the leaf springs on top and bolt on bottom with a plate.

but......website choices have 3" only for square ubolt and 4" /3" for round ubolt.

anyone have any idea on the correct measuring points or even better what ubolt size is on a f-450 2010 with dana 110 axle.

the measures for f-250/f-350 that do not have dana110 dont apply.

I would just take the truck to a large truck spring shop and tell them how much longer of U bolts I needed and have them make them up for you. When I resprung my EX I had the local spring shop make all 8 new U bolts that I needed (4 longer than stock, 4 stock size just new) while I waited (about 30 minutes) all for $69. I already had examples of each on hand that I took for them to match the contour to, but having the truck there they should be able to do the same.

I live in nyc and we don’t have truck spring shops.

so far, the answer I got is that the ubolts are measured inside to inside so my bolts would be considered to be 3” ubolts. We’ll see for sure when they show up.

mine are square and the option was a semi square ubolt that requires a new cap plate.

so this is all entities ro me and we’ll see how it goes

This reply surprised me, I live just South of Philly and we have spring shops here and I figured that the largest city in the US would also have similar shops....so I asked Google.

garden city is not in NYC, its in suffolk county out in long island.

I have some on order from the source providing me traction bars and lift blocks for the dana 110 axle. when they come in, we will know if the supplied ubolts will fit.

basic problem was the measurement standard. some measure center bolt to center bolt, some measure inside distance. then you have square flat, curved, f-mount, etc.

right now I have on order 19inch f-mount 3" wide ubolts. it required a new top place becuase the f-mount is not curved and not square, its a curved square.

so we'll see when they come in.

We have truck spring shops around here as well, I normally give them the spring width that the bolt needs to clear.
If the company selling the lift kit and or bolts doesn't understand the spring width measurment I call another company

When you strip the gears on a Dana S110 axle you should reconsider how badly your abusing you truck.
110 gears make Ford Sterling and Dana 80 gears look like they belong in a Toyota Tacoma.
Changed out the 4.88's in my F-450 for 3.73's, the 110 ring and pinion weighed nearly 75 lbs and cost over a grand.
