Introduction and 57 F100

Hi, new guy here from WV. II picked up a 57 F100 SWB project this past weekend. Will try to get some pics tomorrow. Truck has had a Crown Vic front end swap and basically stripped down and media blasted. Pretty solid project originally from Nevada. Currently has a 70 351C 4v and c4. Going to swap in a 5 speed to round out the drivetrain.

Missing some one parts and have placed an add in the wanted section. If anyone has any leads or spare headlight rings hanging around or a driver side headlight door you could spare for the stainless grill, I would appreciate the help. Also looking for the throttle pedal bell crank, I believe to go from the pedal out to the carb. Probably a lot more missing, but those are the biggest at the moment.

nice to be here and look forward to sharing progress on my project.

Matt

What size was the original engine?
The headlamp bulb retainer ring is EZ to find, because it was used on a gazillion different FoMoCo vehicles.

D3TZ-13015-A (replaced 11A-13015) .. Headlamp Bulb Retainer Ring-Use with single round headlamps / Available from Ford & auto parts stores & repro parts sellers.

1941/79 FoMoCo Passenger Cars & All Trucks / 1961/78 Econoline / 1966/79 Bronco / 1980/86 C series Tilt Cabs / 1980/89 L/LN/LNT/LT/LTS600/900.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B7CZ-13064-A .. Headlamp Door - R/L same / Obsolete

1957 F100/900 / No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Thanks NumberDummy. I have the rings to retain the bulbs. It's the outer stainless trim rings. Anybody know of a close replacement or something else that might work? I'm going to see if I can't get the headlight door repaired and straitened if i can't find another of those. I had actually gotten the information above from one of your older posts. I know they are unobtanium, but thought someone might have some spares in their stashes of parts. There just aren't to many if any of these 57 trucks left around my neck of the woods.

V/R

Thanks again.

You said "spare headlamp rings" - "or a drivers side headlamp door."

Upper pic: The headlamp door is 13064, the retainer ring is 13015.

Ok, I see. I guess the part I'm looking for may not be serviceable separately from the main grill shell. It's the "eye brow" portion of the grill that surrounds the headlight and the headlight door.

Ok, well spring Carlisle is next week. I'm going to have to be on the lockout for them. The biggest issue will be identifying them without ever laying hands on one before. Anybody have one the could measure?

You're going to need to find a "user" to measure, but where will you find one? I don't know of a source here in CA

There's a possibility here: The F100 SuperNationals Truck Show is held in Pigeon Forge TN October 4-5-6 2018.

I guess it might be a road trip then. I think there was a pair on Ebay last month that didn't sale with a price of $600.00 I guess if that's the only thing I need the price would be worth it. Might have to buy another truck if I find one just for the parts.

I have a 1956/1957 bound paper Ford Truck Chassis Parts Catalog printed February 1957.

The original part number was B7C-13045-A .. 1957 F100/900 Headlamp Door = There is ONE available! (this part number was later replaced by B7CZ-13064-A)

OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 1 = 229-686-5101.

Good luck if it's still available, for a somewhat reasonable price. 600 bucks for a pair of these puppies is ridiculous.

Quick search of their online site revealed none in stock. I'll still try and give them a call.
