Has anyone upgraded from Sync 3 v2.2 or v2.3 to the new official released sync 3 v3.0? I was notified of the update but I have not done it yet. I'm still on v2.3. If you have upgraded, any issues? Does anyone have a link to the change log or additions in the final release?

Going to have to see if I can get THIS one over the air, 2.3 never came through. Edit: can't even download it to a thumb drive, the loading screen just sits and spins, wont go any further.

 

 

 

The OTA update didn't work, but the thumb drive option did. About 40 minutes total to download, install, and upload log file. Now on 3.0.

 

The zip file is 1.5 gigs. Put the thumb drive in with the truck running and 1hour later, still stuck on upgrading system software. I gave up.

 

For the record - I am on Sync 3.0 and with the newest version of Ford Pass....IT WORKS! I have a full vehicle health report! Also...there is an option in the FordPass app for SmartLink, which is interesting.

 

the download to my computer took about 5 minutes yesterday. I have yet to put the usb in the truck

 

Followed everything on the ford site and it took 30 mins to complete. They say to use a 32gb usb stick but i used a 4gb it worked fine. Other than a font change i didnt notice anything different really. Its probably mostly behind the scenes performance upgrades.

 

I`ll be glad when they finally release SmartLink.

That SmartLink switch has been in my Ford Pass app under the account section for about 3 months now. No need to slide it on but it`s nice to know that it`s there and ready to go when Ford finally releases it but then again, there will be a new FordPass/SmartLink companion app soon.

 

Download wasn't bad, took about 5 minutes.
When you put the USB in the truck there isn't any sign that it's doing anything, it pulled it out and got a message that the update failed. I had to copy the files onto the USB again and do it over. Left the truck running for 30 minutes and got the message that the update was successful. No big changes that I can notice, some of the screens are slightly different.

 

Just updated my Sync to V3.0, now Android auto no longer works, crashes immediately when the phone is plugged in.

 

Nooooo. Is anyone else having trouble with Android Auto and V3?

 

This might be a stupid question but where are y'all downloading this from?
