Found for sale on cragslist this pretty nice F6 dump bed truck. While I may not think it's quite as nice as the owner does, at 17K I think he's reaching, and the engine is wasted here, it is kinda cool.

That truck has been off and on craigslist for over year. The first time it came up I think he wanted close to $20k for it.

That's a nice looking truck. Odd that he would do that type of engine work on an F6.
I would love to have something like this truck. Since I have no extra money and no real need for it (I could come of with a need if I had the money. ) it will stay there.
So, what are thoughts on a reasonable price for something like this? The engine work had to be fairly pricey, but as Wayne said, a bit wasted on this truck.

The number one rule in the appraisal world is 'cost is not value.' Having a hot rod engine in a work truck does not add value to it. It's probably a 5K truck to the right buyer, and he would likely be more interested in it with a more stock engine. The market for F6's as a driver or boulevard cruiser is rather small. My 2c.

You can't really blame the guy for bringing his dream to reality. This had to be a labor of love because I don't think anyone would do this build to try to turn a profit. Too bad he couldn't take care of the horn and widow makers as those details would stand out to a discerning buyer, and suggest that shortcuts were made elsewhere. But we will see. Water seeks it's own level.

If the motor is actually bored .060" (not .60" as listed) - that doesn't figure out to be 274 CID. Would need another 1/8" stroke on the Merc crank for that. - Bob
