1999 superduty crewcab dome light upgrade
Ok. So I would like to upgrade the factory dome lights in my 99 crew cab xl to a much brighter led.
The factory housing has 1 bulb socket and is square in shape. The only upgrade I can find on the interweb is the recon kit, which from the pictures has 3 bulbs and is different in shape.
Does anyone know if this kit is a direct fit replacement for the 1999.
I understand the picture could just be a stock pic, but I would rather have confirmation from fte members if this will fit or if there is a better upgrade. Thanks guys!

I used these in my Subaru to create a dome light in the front. I plan to do the same in my F350. All I did was add wire to the pig tails pull the outlet and connect the wires on the backside of the outlet. You can run the light wherever you want it,

I went the route of Timmy and just swapped bulbs rather than fixtures. IIRC, the OE bulb is probably a 211 and double check the manual just to make sure.
At the risk of insulting, the thing to watch for in a LED is the color. Avoid vendors with descriptive terms like 'warm', 'soft', 'cool', etc. Focus on sellers that state the color in Kelvin. Most like 5000K as it is a sharp white light. ~3000K is about the color of the incandescent filament bulb. 6000K starts to get into the blue territory.

Same here. Did this a while back. Got a set of 4 led bulbs that popped right in for ~$5. Also put some LED bulb in for the backup bulbs.
One of these days, will eventually swap out all the bulbs but it is something that has just been on the back burner for now.
