Need help finding a part

I have a 64 F100 Automatic that has popped out of park a couple times. I've looked on four suppliers sites with no luck in finding the part available. Is it a dealer stock item?

C1TT-7A216-A .. Transmission Control Selector Position Insert / Obsolete

1961/64 F100/250 with FX Cruise-O-Matic.

In addition to the above, GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 3 = 800-543-4959.

Shown as 7A216 in pic:

I don't know how many of the sources will be open on Saturday.

1964 Falcon Shift Detent

Found a shift detent that matched the one on the truck. This was the only place I could find one in stock with a web site ready to order, so I took a chance and ordered it. Felt pretty confident it'll work.

It will not!

WRONG PART! This is for a 1964 Fairlane 289/C4, the Ford part number is: C4OZ-7A216-A

The one you need is for a 1961/64 F100/250 2WD w/FX Cruise-O-Matic.

Post #2: Chad gave you the applications/sources and Ford part number (C1TT-7A216-A) for the correct detent. I added further info in post #3.

So why in the hell would you assume a 1964 Fairlane detent would work?

And...besides the detent, the '64 Fairlane uses a different upper flange than 1961/64 F100/250 2WD

This is the 64 Falcon detent
This is the one that came out of my truck.
I think they are the same part. I'll let you know if I'm wrong when it gets here.

The one you bought is for a 1964 Fairlane w/a 289/C4 (C4OZ-7A216-A). 1964 Falcon 260 V8 came with the 2 speed Ford-O-Matic.

The one you need is for a 1961/64 F100/250 2WD with FX Cruise-O-Matic (C1TT-7A216-A).

Since the part numbers are different, the one you bought is incorrect!

There's a gazillion different detents, all look similar, but that doesn't mean they are all the same.

My bad, I meant Fairlane as listed in the part link.

Got it in the mail today and installed it. Works great and is thicker and more heavy duty than the one I replaced. It should last my lifetime.

Got this breaker in the mail today also. May get it installed tomorrow after the annual VA appointment. This will be the trucks longest drive so far. I expect weak parts to fail in the near future the more I drive it, so I'll go as prepared as possible.
