Need info on a 2011 Escape
I looked at a 2011 Escape and it drove nice. The bad is that he said it was a 4wd but there wasn’t any buttons or switches for it other than a traction control button. It has a 4 cylinder in it and it has over 200000 miles. 80000 on a new engine. It was well taken care of. What designates it to be a 4wd? No outside badges either.

This is good advice. Look under it, if there is a drive shaft to the rear end its awd.
my 05 is awd and has no 4x4 buttons, it's intelligent awd. It goes in and out on its own.
i don't know about the newer escapes, but the drive train components on my 05 are a lot more beefy than what my 2014 Honda crv had. (Hated that Honda, pos, no more foreign stuff for me)

There was snow on the ground and I didn’t want to get wet. I can’t get down as easy as I used to due to having a brace on my right ankle and foot (residual from a stroke a few years back). I still can drive, I have enough movement in my ankle to push and let off on the gas, but I have to use my left foot for the brake. Sort of like a driving a standard. Not being able drive and having to depend on everyone else to take you everywhere sucks. So you have to adapt. I have an Excursion but the gas mileage stinks. I was surprised at the shoulder room in the Escape. My daughter has a Ranger and when I get in it and shut the door it hits me in the shoulder.

Went looking today with my brother and found a nice 2008 XLT 4wd with 81000 miles, but by the time we got to the lot he was closed. Won’t be back in until Monday. There was an online ad so I left my contact info there and a note that I was very interested. So we will see if he contacts me Monday. I will report back later. Thanks for the info I really appreciated it!

Don' be surprised f you have to call and follow up. I've not had good luck with the online inquiries unless your going to a ford dealer. Hopefully they will respond promptly to you. Hope you find something that works for you and I hope you have a good recovery from your stroke. Sorry to hear about that
